Obi-Wan had not held office hours in some time. With the weather turning downright pleasant for the eopies - ensuring that they didn't need his constant attention to ensure they wouldn't suffer discomfort - he was happy to let them out to roam the woods while he made sure his office hadn't been overrun by cobwebs yet.

(No, it was not.)

He made tea before sitting down-- nice and warm and soothing to his throat - and settled in to review his lesson plans for the upcoming class.

They couldn't get bogged down in lumber again, after all.

Anakin popped his bald, bald head into the office without fanfare, Force-sense drawn in tightly around himself to avoid detection.

"Would you recognize me?"

"I--"

You could pinpoint the exact moment Obi-Wan actually looked up by the sudden moment of incredulous silence that followed.

"Jaina's getting married on the 20th," Anakin explained. "One of my gifts is not having her grandfather recognized and dragged from the reception hall for xenocide."

"Give me a moment," Obi-Wan said, rubbing his forehead, "I'm having the most terrifying flashbacks to your late teens."

"Mace Windu was jealous."

This was patently untrue.

Obi-Wan snorted. "Not at all." He tilted his head. "I suppose your hair is a rather obvious identifying feature... though I would hope you'll dress differently, as well."

He ran Anakin's words back in his head. Xenocide...?

"Well, yes," Anakin said. "I was thinking of one of those shirts that change prints every time someone touches it."

Classy wedding attire, Anakin.

"I fear that might stand out in its own way at a wedding, Anakin," Obi-Wan said. "Unless you plan to spend most of it pretending to be a very loud potted plant."

You could taste the dubiousness.

"I could be a great potted plant," Anakin decided.

[saddeserthermit]

"Then you might have to get a hat," Obi-Wan said.

Dryly.

Very dryly.

"I was also thinking of growing a mustache."

That would...do something?

"Are you certain your granddaughter would allow you to attend the wedding if you had one?" Obi-Wan said dryly. "We both know how well you manage facial hair."

"I'm more worried about Rory," Anakin admitted. "The kids didn't react well to this look as it is."

[saddeserthermit]

"You do look... rather not like yourself," Obi-Wan said. "But then that is the point, isn't it? Anyway, even if you could grow a decent mustache, you've no experience at all managing one."

He decided not to bring up the xenocide topic. At least for the moment.

"It's hair. How hard can it be to manage?"

Said the man with an entire shelf of hair-care products.

Yeah, Obi-Wan was going to give him a very incredulous look.

Anakin gave him a winning smile in return. "What?"

[saddeserthermit]

"You'll probably wind up with your entire supper in your mustache," Obi-Wan said mildly.

[sith_happened]

"I would not," Anakin said, sounding aggrieved.

[saddeserthermit]

"The way you eat?" Obi-Wan said. "You'd probably try to paw it off as an easy way to carry a snack."

[sith_happened]

"And that would be....wrong?" Anakin said with the practiced tempo of someone who'd used pretending not to know protocol to wind up Padme for years.

Obi-Wan, predictably, sighed loudly.

Anakin grinned. "You left yourself wide open, Obi-Wan."
